Welcome to Woodend & District Heritage Society!

You’ve come to the right place if you’re interested in the history of the villages of Woodend, Newham, Ashbourne and Hesket.

Lots of places in the world are called Woodend or Wood End. We’re in Australia, about an hour north-west of Melbourne, in the heart of the beautiful Macedon Ranges.

Since 1977, we’ve helped all sorts of people delve into the past, from family history researchers to TV production teams.Please let us know how we can help you, too.

We’re volunteers and we meet on Wednesdays at the court house in Forest St, Woodend.
